Catholics settled in Milford area in the late 1800s and early 1900s attended Mass at either St. John the Evangelist Church in Lambertville or St. Philip and St. James Church in Phillipsburg. From 1915 Sunday Mass was celebrated in the private homes and in a Silk Mill in Milford by priests from Philipsburg. On July 14, 1922 Catholic Community of St. Edward the Confessor became an official Mission to St. Philip and St. James Parish in Phillipsburg. In the spring of 1925 construction of the church began and the first Mass was celebrated on Christmas that year. In 1937 a large wing was added to the Church. On June 14, 1944 St. Edward the Confessor became independent Parish.

Prayer for Generosity by St. Ignatius.

Lord Jesus, teach me to be generous;
Teach me to serve you as you deserve,
To give and not to count the cost,
To fight and not to heed the wounds,
To toil and not to seek to rest,
To labor and not seek reward,

Except that of knowing that I do your will.     Amen.

What is the most important thing you have?

What is the most important thing you own?

What’s the difference?
